Can I show the passport from my home country?

No. Your personal identity number must be shown, so only a Swedish ID card from Skatteverket, a Swedish driver's license, or a Swedish SIS-marked ID card are accepted.

Can I wear a normal wristwatch?

UHR does not allow smartwatches and digital watches. To be safe, leave your watch at home.

Can I bring a dictionary?

No. No aids other than a pen, an eraser and simple earplugs are listed as allowed.

Test day: ID and what you can bring

ID

You must be able to show one of three types of Swedish ID: an identity card for people registered as living in Sweden (from Skatteverket), a Swedish driver's license, or a Swedish SIS-marked ID card.

Your Swedish personal identity number must be shown on it. This is why you cannot use a foreign passport as ID on test day.

Arrive on time

Arrive in good time. UHR says there is a risk you will not be let into the room after the test has started.

What you can bring

A pencil or pen, an eraser, and simple earplugs from a pharmacy.

What you cannot bring

Mobile phones, smartwatches, digital watches and other electronics. Headphones, AirPods and similar devices. Other aids that can store, hold, send or receive information.

Food and drink are not allowed, unless they are part of an approved adjustment.

The test itself

The test is in Swedish, is written on paper, and has multiple choice questions with one correct answer. You cannot take the test in another language.
